National Parks of the Abacos

The Abacos has a 320-km long coastline and an abundance of national parks. The Bahamas National Trust maintains 6 national parks in the AbacosIslands.

  • Pelican Cays Land and Sea Park: This park has 2, 100 acres of land and sea area that boasts beautiful underwater caves, coral reefs, terrestrial plants and various marine species.
  • Abaco National Park: This is 20,500acres of pine forest that serves as the habitat of about 1000 Bahama parrots. Established in 1994, this park is located in South Abacos.
